Overview
The Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTi 150P is a 150mm f/5 tabletop Dobsonian that adds full GoTo capability without forcing you to give up the simplicity of manual pushing. That combination is genuinely unusual, and it works through Sky-Watcher's dual-encoder system, which means the mount always knows where it is pointing even after you move it by hand. At 150mm aperture and 750mm focal length, this scope will show you lunar craters in sharp detail, Saturn's rings, Jupiter's cloud bands, and the Galilean moons without any trouble.
Fainter targets like the Orion Nebula and the Andromeda Galaxy are well within reach under reasonably dark skies. Globular clusters such as M13 will begin to resolve individual stars at the edges. The GoTo system is controlled through Sky-Watcher's SynScan Pro app over Wi-Fi, which removes the need for a hand controller.
At 11.7kg the whole setup is genuinely portable, though you will need a sturdy table or a separate alt-az pillar to use it in the field. The fast f/5 focal ratio can make achieving sharp views across the field require a quality eyepiece, so budget accordingly if you plan to push magnification. Overall, this is a strong value at $545 for someone who wants guided object finding in a compact, capable reflector.

- GoTo via Wi-Fi and the SynScan Pro app eliminates the need for a separate hand controller
- Dual encoders allow manual repositioning without losing alignment, a rare feature at this price point
- Tabletop Dobsonian design keeps total weight at 11.7kg, making it genuinely portable for travel and camping
- f/5 focal ratio improves performance on faint deep-sky objects, though it rewards better quality eyepieces

The media could not be loaded. Update. Oct - Nov 2025: Pretty nice scope tbh. Able to see faint lines on Jupiter and the ring of saturn with a super faint shadow. Saw a handful of satellites zoom past. For me and my location (city) the star tracker auto motion doesn't work. But the wifi phone app mo...
I'm totally new to telescoping, but have been staring at the sky with binoculars and spotting scopes for years. Moved to a remote location and see a TON of stuff in the sky now. Chose this for my telescope because it is an All-in-one unit, has the manual and computer option although I mostly use man...
This is not quite a total begginers telescope, but simple enough. It 's quite capable of planetary and deep space observation. The go-to works fine if you follow the alignment procedure, which is not complicated at all. The only thing I disliked were the eyepieces that came with it. They are accepta...
