Overview
The Sky-Watcher FlexTube 250 SynScan gives you a 254mm (10-inch) aperture Dobsonian with the added convenience of computerized GoTo and automatic tracking, which is a combination that used to require a much larger budget or a more complex equatorial setup. The f/4.7 focal ratio and 1200mm focal length suit deep-sky targets well, including galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters, and the 94% reflective, fully multi-coated mirrors help deliver bright, high-contrast views. The collapsible strut design genuinely reduces the hassle of transport and storage without requiring you to re-collimate every session.
At 34.56kg fully assembled, it is not a lightweight instrument, so you will want a clear plan for moving it between your car and your observing site. The SynScan hand controller holds a 42,000-object database, and built-in WiFi lets you control the scope from a smartphone if you prefer. The GoTo alignment process requires some patience to learn, and the Amazon rating of 3.8 out of 5 suggests some users have encountered a learning curve with the computerized system.
Two eyepieces and a 9x50 finder scope are included.

Yes, it is big, yes it is awesome. Now for all you fans, something I did not know. Upon opening the box, the first piece of paper slipped out and indicated , "by the way your Sky-Watcher has built in Wi-Fi." I did not know they had started doing this. I almost bought the Wi-Fi dongle with the scope....
I had been thinking of upgrading to this scope for a year before I did it, and I wish I could get that time back and just buy the thing already! NO regrets! Previously I had a 4.5" manual dob; it was a great starter scope. What I love about this one: 1) The tracking! It's great to be able to keep ob...
The box arrived damaged with a hole and scratches. The secondary mirror adjustment screws and center screw were seized and could not be loosened, making the telescope impossible to collimate. The back of the secondary mirror was dented, raising concerns that the product was not new. I had to disasse...
