Overview
At 40mm aperture and 400mm focal length, this f/10 refractor is genuinely entry-level, and that is worth understanding before buying. The two included eyepieces deliver 20x and 32x magnification, which is modest but appropriate for a first telescope. At these power levels, you can expect reasonable views of the Moon, basic lunar craters, and possibly Jupiter as a small disk with hints of its cloud bands on a steady night. Deep sky objects will largely disappoint given the limited light-gathering of a 40mm objective.
The multi-layer broadband coatings do help maximize what little aperture you have, improving contrast slightly over uncoated optics. The alt-azimuth mount is simple to operate, which suits its intended audience well. The 5x18 finder scope adds genuine value for beginners learning to navigate the sky. Setup requires no tools, and the whole package weighs under a kilogram, making it easy to carry outside on a whim.
At $29.99, expectations should be calibrated accordingly. This is a telescope for building curiosity and basic observing habits, not for serious astronomical study.

Very tiny, does not work at all!! My window expired for return bc my grandson didn't open till Christmas. I'm out $ because it has no use! Can't see a thing through the "lens" buyer beware. Do not purchase!
Easy to setup and use. We are homeschooling and my daughter (and husband) love to look at the sky. This works way better than we expected it to, it’s such a cute telescope, perfect for kids and a great first telescope.
