Overview
The Tele Vue DeLite 18.2mm is a well-suited eyepiece for observers who want serious optical performance without the bulk or price of Tele Vue's higher-end Delos line. Built around the same optical principles as the Delos, it delivers a 62-degree apparent field of view, which is wide enough to give pleasing, immersive views of deep-sky objects, open clusters, and the Moon, without crossing into the ultra-wide territory that can sometimes introduce distortion at the field edges.
The 20mm of eye relief is a genuine practical advantage, particularly for eyeglass wearers, and the sliding, locking eyeguard makes it straightforward to find a consistent and comfortable viewing position. At 18.2mm, this focal length works well as a medium-low power eyepiece in shorter refractors and SCTs, offering a useful balance between magnification and exit pupil.
At $305, it sits at a premium price point for a 1.25" eyepiece, so beginners may find better value elsewhere. However, for observers who have already worked through the basics and want a reliable, high-quality eyepiece they will use for years, the DeLite 18.2mm is a strong, practical choice.

When it comes to eyepieces, "to each, his/her own" is the rule. Telescope aperture and focal length are important factors, but so, too, are your targets. There is no one eyepiece for everybody. But for me, this is the one. I use a CPC-1100 (11-inch f/10, 2800 mm focal length) telescope. Ninety-nine ...
I purchased for use with a 65mm Pentax spotting scope (21X) and a C-5 (69X). Works excellent for both applications. This is my main ocular for the Pentax, @ 1,000-2,000'. Also one can purchase astigmatism correcting filters for DeLites and most Tele Vue occulars. cheers
I liked the crystal view of the planets and the moon that this lens provides
