The Celestron Omni 15mm is a solid, no-frills eyepiece that delivers genuinely good optical performance for its price point. Built around a classic four-element Plossl design, it offers a 50-degree apparent field of view, which is modest but perfectly suited for lunar observation, planetary detail work, and brighter deep-sky objects like globular clusters and open clusters. At 15mm, it will give you a useful mid-range magnification in most telescopes, sitting comfortably between your finder and a high-power planetary eyepiece.
The fully multi-coated optics help transmission and contrast, and the blackened lens edges do make a real difference in reducing scatter and improving image clarity. Eye relief at this focal length is adequate but not generous, so observers wearing glasses may find the foldable rubber eyecup helpful for maintaining the full field of view. The aluminum barrel accepts standard 1.25-inch filter threads, which is a practical touch at this price.
It is not going to outperform premium eyepieces costing five times as much, but for beginners building a starter eyepiece set or observers wanting a dependable backup, the Omni 15mm is hard to argue against.

Are these the absolute best plossl eyepieces money can buy? No, of course not. But, for the price they are quite good. I have the 9mm, 15mm, 32mm, and 40mm. Works great. The telescope came with a 32 mm eyepiece, so this is a little over twice the magnification.
