Celestron NexStar Evolution 6

The Celestron NexStar Evolution 6 is a 150mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope designed to remove the traditional barriers between a beginner and the night sky. The included StarSense AutoAlign system handles polar alignment automatically, so you spend less time fumbling with setup and more time observing. Once aligned, the GoTo mount can locate and track over 120,000 celestial objects, which is genuinely useful when you are still learning your way around the sky.

Optically, the 6-inch aperture with StarBright XLT coatings delivers sharp views of the Moon, planetary detail on Jupiter and Saturn, and fainter deep-sky targets like globular clusters and bright nebulae. The included 40mm and 13mm eyepieces give you working magnifications of 38x and 115x out of the box, and the optical design supports up to 354x for high-power lunar and planetary sessions. The integrated WiFi lets you control the telescope from a smartphone or tablet, which many users find more intuitive than a hand controller.

At just under 27kg total, portability is a real consideration. This is a stay-in-the-backyard scope rather than a grab-and-go option, but for a dedicated observing spot it performs well above its price class.
